From an early age I realized that I was particularly interested in the field of personal finance, mostly because I found the subject fascinating and enjoyed reading on the topic. Friends would frequently seek my financial advice and I enjoyed giving it. It made sense that I focus on a professional career in personal finance. As I worked with major financial companies and studied accounting in college, I greatly expanded my knowledge and learned the ins and outs of investing in stocks, bonds, mutual funds, the complications of life insurance and annuities, tax laws, and the pitfalls of debt.
The most important lesson I learned however, was the sales techniques used by some of the most well-regarded finance companies in the country to lock their clients into costly "investment programs" that were not appropriate to their goals and in many cases costing their clients millions of dollars. All of this done in the name of astronomical commissions for the "advisors" and massive company profits.
Founding Free Financial became a pressing matter for me when I learned that close members of my family were being pressured to lock themselves into these types of detrimental financial plans by a "trusted" financial advisor. That is when financial planning became a personal mission for me. I had seen first hand the lifetime of hard work, discipline, and financial restraint it took to build a significant amount of wealth and found it infuriating that when that person asked a "trusted" advisor for help, they were taken advantage of. While I was able to save the members of my family from falling into this trap, I knew others weren't going to be so fortunate.
I know how hard people work for their money and understand the challenges they overcome to save towards their goals. It is my personal commitment to all of our clients, that any service we provide will be given with the same attention, integrity and focus on our clients interests as I would commit to my own family.
